The Form Armchair Frame Walnut was created by Simon Legald for the manufacturer Normann.
Although less than 20 years old, this Danish company has already garnered over 50 awards for its products, which exude a timeless simplicity that's characteristic of Scandinavian design. A recent graduate from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Simon Legald is a young talent who has already made his mark on the international scene. His signature style combines elegant minimalism with an emphasis on functionality and honest craftsmanship.
Winner of the IF Design Award and a "Special Mention" at the German Design Awards in 2016, the Form Armchair Frame Walnut from Normann harmoniously combines the industrial feel of injection-moulded plastic and the traditional look of turned wood. Measuring 78cm in height, 56.1cm in width and with a seat height of 44.2cm, the armchair comprises a sleekly contoured shell with a low back that slopes down to wing-like armrests, their outer edges rolled for a palpably smooth finish. This is attached to the wooden legs via a groundbreaking new cup system for a smooth, seamless transition between old and new. The resulting chair is clean and contemporary yet also warm and welcoming.
