This subtly attractive Knitted Hand Woven Jute Carpet was created by Nani Marquina for her Spanish label Nanimarquina.

Established in Barcelona in 1987, Nanimarquina is now one of the leading makers of distinctive one-of-a-kind contemporary rugs. By tapping into age-old carpet making methods, the firm creates carpets that dazzle with their exquisite blend of tradition and modernity. Using fibers such as Afghan and New Zealand wool, silk, jute and mohair, Nani and her fellow designers create motifs drawn from nature, geometry and ethnic cultures for a unique effect that radiates both sophistication and an earthy sense of style.

This soft and rustic Knitted Hand Woven Jute Carpet was created from 100% hand-spun jute fibres using the soumak weaving technique that is traditional to the Caucasus. Available only in its natural warm sandy colour, the carpet comes in two sizes: 240cm x 170cm and 300cm x 200cm. The height is 0.8cm and the density is 50,000 knots per square metre.
