The Stacked 2.0 Shelf System 9 was designed by Julien De Smedt for Muuto.
Launched in Copenhagen in 2006, Muuto takes Scandinavian design traditions to a new and contemporary level by using modern materials and techniques. A large part of the label's range is storage units that are truly versatile while maintaining a lightness of appearance. Julien De Smedt is a Belgian designer known for his versatile architectural and interiors designs based on the cube. Among his prestigious prizes are the Golden Lion Award and the Copenhagen Award for Architecture.
The Stacked 2.0 Shelf System 9 consists of 16 cuboids, some with backs and some without, that can be arranged to configurations that suit their intended use and surroundings. By using cleverly designed small clips, the system can be quickly rearranged when required creating new looks by simply playing around with the arrangement of modules and the spaces between them. The boxes are cut from MDF then assembled and finished with a light oak veneer. The Stacked 2.0 Shelf System 9 can either be used freestanding or as a wall-mounted unit. Its overall dimensions are 130.8 x 218 x 35 cm.
