Designer Tomita Kazuhiko designed the rectangular Ukiyo side table for the label Moroso.
It was created as a coffee table with a lightweight frame made of steel wire that carries a weighty decoration to balance the design: traditional Kimono fabric in combination with polyester resin is pressed into shape and yields the Ukiyo Table's surface. The design is part of the Moroso Project that concentrates on small furnishings and decorative elements.
Ukiyo is a much used term from the 18th century in Japan that stems from Shintoist realism; its meaning is that everything is floating and nothing lasts forever, so that living in the moment is the perfect way of reaching eternity, even if this seems to be a paradox.
Let the Ukiyo Table inspire you to new living design ideas: As side table in the dining room or as colourful coffee table in combination with a purist, unicoloured sofa - let your imagination run free!
The Ukiyo Table is available in different colour versions, please see the "available product types" for detailed information.
