Fringe 1 Suspension Lamp

The Fringe 1 Suspension Lamp was created by Edward van Vliet for leading Dutch design companyMoooi.

Moooi was started in Holland in 2001 by design duo Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers. The quirky name reflects the uniqueness and fun that their products bring to any decorating scheme. The Fringe 1 Suspension Lamp is the brainchild of celebrated designer Edward van Vliet. Van Vliet has stated that his products are a mixture of high-tech methods, natural materials and classic Western design, while also being inspired by the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

The Fringe 1 Suspension Lamp is a combination of both simplicity and luxury. It has vintage elements, with the cotton fringing that surrounds the bottom of the shade harking back to the flapper dresses of the 1920s. The lamp is part of a wider range that contains similar shades in various sizes - these can be paired together for a cohesive look. The shade itself is made from PVC and cotton laminate stretched over a metal frame, and the suspension is made of chrome steel. It has a height of 40cm, a diameter of 70cm and takes 1x E27 / 100W general purpose bulb.
