The Sag Stool/Side Table was designed by Oki Sato for the Italian furniture label MDF Italia and is a visually striking example of contemporary seating design.

Sato is one of the most successful modern Japanese furniture designers. His Nendo label has offices all over the world and his products have accumulated a huge haul of awards, including Red Dot Awards, German Design Awards and honorable mentions in the Compasso d'Oro.

Products like this elegant Sag Stool/Side Table are typical of Sato's design philosophy. He seeks to create forms that evoke the natural world - in this case a flower that is about to bloom - while maintaining a strict adherence to minimalist ideas. This results in pieces that are both easy to look at and supremely functional.

The Sag Stool/Side Table is a multi-purpose product. It can be used as a conventional stool or as a small table for lounges or office environments. It comes in four different varieties, with heights between 43cm and 44 cm. All models have a diameter of 40 cm. The stool's base is made from polyurethane, while the tabletop is a gorgeous bamboo veneer - an unusual design element that works beautifully.
