The Djembé C 42.28 LED Ceiling Lamp was designed by Joan Gaspar for the brand Marset.
The industrial designer Joan Gaspar has long had an interest in designing minimalist lighting, and this track record made him an excellent fit for Marset, a firm that prides itself on its innovative and sustainable practices. This collaboration has proved fruitful, as designs by Gaspar have garnered many awards, including the Delta de Pata and first prize at the Valencia International Furniture Competition. With an emphasis on rigorous design, quality and durability, his lights have become internationally recognised.
These qualities are to the fore in the contemporary styling of the Djembé C 42.28 LED Ceiling Lamp. This deceptively simple 28 x 42 cm ceiling lamp is ideal for any contemporary design scheme. The exterior gives the impression of solidity and permanence, but gives way to an open interior that casts a generous light from an LED bulb. The hood is roto-moulded, a technique which allows the designer to play with texture whilst retaining a high level of rugged durability. This plastic and aluminium lamp can be used singly, but for the most dramatic effect it would be perfect used in sequence in a larger space.
