Born in 1951, he was one of the founders of the la palma brand, which seeks to make the finest designer engineering available to ordinary design fans, and this Panco High Table/Lunch Counter is a case in point. It has a deceptively simple form, with a simple rectangular shape and pure, straight lines. But the quality of the piece lies in its combination of materials. The blend of laminate, wood, and metal employed by Marcato has been skillfully processed, resulting in a stunningly pure appearance.
