Kushi 33 Suspension Lamp

The Kushi 33 Suspension Lamp has been created by Alberto Saggia and Valerio Sommella for the brand Kdln. Kushi is a type of skewer used in Japanese cooking - but Saggia and Sommella have reimagined the utensil and turned it into a striking piece of modern lighting. Inspired by Japanese lanterns as much as the nation's cooking, Kushi will create a gentle, welcoming atmosphere wherever it is used.

The Kushi 33 Suspension Lamp is a pendant in the Kushi collection. It has the appearance of a marshmallow or a white mushroom that has been skewered for grilling, although in this case the shade is made from opal coloured mouth-blown glass. This shade has a diameter of 33cm and includes a couple of glass layers, ensuring that the light produced is soft and relaxing.

The 'skewer' element of the Kushi 33 Suspension Lamp is made from metal, and a variety of finishes are available. All fit beautifully with the opal diffuser and connect easily to a ceiling canopy which itself has a 12.5cm diameter. The unit has a total height of 56cm and features a dimmer. It uses a single bulb and the appropriate bulb with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories.
