The Comback Chair Frame Ash was designed by Patricia Urquiola, a Spanish architect and designer, for the Italian Kartell brand.
Established by Giulio Castelli in 1949 in Milan, Italy, the company got its start by creating and selling automotive accessories, before turning to creating home furnishings and accessories in 1963. Thanks to the efforts of the Italian designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri, the company was propelled into the mainstream with its collection of inspired, well-made products. The recipient of a range of accolades, including the Good Design Award in 2012, as well as the highly sought-after Red Dot Design Award in 2013, the company has secured its place as one of the leading purveyors of contemporary home furnishings.
A reimagining of the classic Windsor chair design of the 18th century, the Comback Chair Frame Ash Tree incorporates the use of plastic to create an elegant yet simple item. Resting on four solid ash wood legs, with a high backrest comprised of several rods and a body crafted from plastic with a high-gloss finish, the chair has all the hallmarks of a classic Kartell design thanks to its contemporary quality.
