Be Bop Armchair

The Be Bop Armchairwas designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for the brand Kartell.

The Palombas are veterans of the Italian design scene, having been active since the 1990s. Since then, they have scooped numerous awards for their bold conceptions, whether seats, taps, or entire interiors. Created for Italy's Kartelllabel, the Be Bop Armchair is characteristic of their work.

Inspired by avant garde jazz, the Be Bop Armchairhas the same spontaneity and capacity to surprise, so the name is completely fitting. Taking a standard four-legged chair format, the chair measures 69 x 75 x 62 cm and has a seat height of 34cm. The seat is a key feature, having been angled from front to back, thus allowing users to sink into the chair without causing long-term discomfort. Crafted from polypropylene plastic, the frame stands out. Its glossy finish will dazzle visitors and harmonises well with the elegant forms which constitute the seat, frame and backrest. Moreover, at 4.9kg, the Be Bop Armchair is easy to move, making it easy to create customised seating arrangements. This intriguing armchair has a bold feel that will make a statement wherever it is deployed.
