Product description
The spectacular YaYaHo Set A Lighting System was designed for the German label Ingo Maurer.
Ingo Maurer was formed in the 1960s after its eponymous founder achieved spectacular success with this first product, the Bulb. Along with his later Lucellino, the Bulb made the the illuminant the focus of a lamp and not the shade or base as was customary. The designer went on to create a range of spectacular lamps noted for both their aesthetic innovation and technological excellence. Examples are the Knitterling and Maru suspension lamps inspired by the bamboo and rice paper witnessed on a visit to Japan, and the low-voltage Ilios floor lamp and YaYaHo lighting system.
One of the manufacturer's earliest low-voltage lamps, the YaYaHo Set A Lighting System is an airy and minimalist creation made of glass, mirrors, and metal. The lamp was inspired by a visit to Haiti where the designer observed strings of festive lights festooned on an electrical cable. With its 600cm long cable, and elaborate adjustable components, the YaYaHo Set A Lighting System offers users unlimited scope to create their own evocative lighting arrangements in kitchens and hallways as well as bedrooms and living rooms.
