The Ingo Maurer label created the Seven off the Wall Floor Lamp.
Ingo Maurer was born in Germany and grew up on an island. He studied art in Munich, and then worked in US cities as a graphic designer. Later, he returned to Germany, and in 1963, he founded popular label Design M, creating domestic lamps. Today, his company is called Ingo Maurer, and his creations appear in worldwide exhibitions. Maurer's hallmark is to combine geometric shapes that diffuse light in original ways.
The influence of Maurer's island upbringing is evident in the Seven off the Wall Floor Lamp. Measuring 14 x 95 cm, the lamp consists of seven sockets attached to power cables that run from an elegant, square wall bracket. The entire arrangement is reminiscent of a cluster of growing buds, a reference to the outdoor environment. A pair of feathers frames each bulb, a feature that diffuses the light in a witty and functional way. Each of the seven sockets requires one E27/1.5W bulb of energy compatibility A++ to E. In tandem with its "off the wall" name, the lamp will spread lightness and laughter, wherever it is placed.
