The intriguing Capitello Armchair was created by designers Franco Audrito and Piero Gatti for leading Italian design company Gufram.
Gufram is a unique brand that creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind furniture. Audrito and Gatti have designed pieces that stand out from regular furniture, with creations inspired by nature and the surrounding world. The manufacturers made the Capitello armchair as an homage to the pop art of the 1970s and it is even featured in collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.
Based on the design of a Greek Capital column, the armchair is moulded from polyurethane foam and latex rubber and reclines towards the ground, inviting the user to relax in the perfectly curved seat. The chair can be added to your home as is, or combined with the matching stool and couch to form the perfect set. The chair measures 120cm in height, making it great for lounging, and the solid structure can be used in any interior space, kitchen, conservatory or patio. The soft, elegant finish brings a touch of classical Greek architecture and sophistication to your home, adding both functionality and an artistic element.
