The GT Lounge Chair has been created by Greta M. Grossman for the brand Gubi. The late Swedish born industrial designer Grossman is remembered for a long and illustrious career in world that was then male-dominated. A good number of her mid-20th Century pieces can today be seen in art museums around the world including MoMA in New York and Stockholm's National Museum. The GT Lounge Chair she dreamed up in 1949 is one of her most popular designs. It is an apt representation of sleek, functional, timeless Scandinavian design. It has a solid backrest and seat with well-filled cushions. The chair stands on a frame that has hairpin legs made of tubular steel fitted with plastic glides. The chair is upholstered using Dedar Milano Tessere col 002 fabric, which brings a modern twist onto Welsh plaids by adding new colour combinations on a black background.
The GT Lounge Chair has a length of 70cm, a width of 64cm and a height of 70cm. It has a seat height of 34cm. It is just the chair to place in a hallway, entryway or living room to make a bold, unapologetic statement of style.
