The Bulb Fiction Suspension Lamp was created by KiBiSi for the Fritz Hansen label.
For over a decade, Fritz Hansen has been using robust materials and eco-efficient techniques to create functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that reflect its Scandinavian heritage. Copenhagen-based KiBiSi is the creation of industrial engineer Lars Larsen, architect Bjarke Ingels and design philosopher Jens Martin Skibsted. Their backgrounds come together to create a modern design symbiosis.
With the Bulb Fiction Suspension Lamp, KiBiSi has stripped design back to basics and come up with an understated light where all the elements work seamlessly together in one monochromatic unit. It adapts itself to any interior in both domestic and public settings but is particularly effective as a witty finish to a minimalistic Nordic decor. The lamp features a shade of hand-blown acid treated opal glass, a fitting of powder-coated aluminium and a supporting cable of extra thick silicon. This cable can safely be tied into knots adding to the design potential of the Bulb Fiction Suspension Lamp, especially when several are grouped together. The lamp produces a diffusion of soft light and measures 21cm in height with a diameter of 12.8cm and cord length of 2m.
