Aurea Suspension Lamp

The elegant Aurea Suspension Lamp was created by Denis Santachiara for the design label Fontana Arte.

Since 1931, Fontana Arte has been making waves in the design world with its striking furniture, lighting and accessory designs that effectively combine the best of Italian culture and style. Santachiara works on the borders of art and design with his ground-breaking projects that always display his fascination with new technology. Among his many prestigious prizes are the Compasso d'Oro and the Design World Good Design Award.

Denis Santachiara designed the Aurea Suspension Lamp in 2005. While stunningly simple on first glance, a closer inspection soon reveals its extraordinary features. An aluminium pendant light source is hidden between two lampshades. An external one is in painted aluminium while the internal shade is made from white methacrylate. This arrangement allows the light to emit a pleasantly diffused glow. With four height-adjustable power cables that extend up to 200cm, this pendant lamp is perfect for providing lighting accents whether suspended individually or in groups over kitchen islands, dining tables or in public spaces. The dimensions of the Aurea Suspension Lamp are 54cm in diameter with a shade depth of 36cm.
