The Pleece Short Scarf was created by Marianne Abelsson for the Design House Stockholm label. Made from a specially chosen mixture of fabrics, it provides plenty of warmth and will add a dash of Swedish character to anyone's winter outfits.
Abelsson is one of Sweden's leading fabric designers, and she has a long-standing relationship with DesignHouse, having created the Pleece Short Scarf back in 1997. As with most of her creations, the aim was to take classic Scandinavian forms and use modern materials to create affordable, sustainably produced alternatives that look and feel more or less like the real thing. With its warm touch and luxurious softness, the Pleece Scarf ticked all of these boxes.
Instead of opting for traditional wool, which can fray easily and sometimes be tough to clean, Abelsson went for a mixture of 75 percent polyester and 25 percent viscose. This ensures that the scarf is soft, flexible and machine washable, so you can keep it in peak condition for as long as possible.
Measuring 140 x 30 cm, it's also long enough to wrap around the wearer's neck a few times, so you can cover your neck and face and keep well wrapped up when the winter closes in.
