Gemma S1 Suspension Lamp

The Gemma S1 Suspension Lamp was designed by Giovanni Barbato for popular lighting brand deMajo.

Internationally-acclaimed designer Barbato was born in Padua in 1974 and studied both Architecture and Industrial Design prior to collaborating on glassworks. Throughout his youth, Barbato worked at a number of lighting factories on Murano, an island renowned for its exquisite glassworks. His designs are characterised by their use of simple, clean shapes and a sense of fluid movement. In 2013, Barbato was awarded the 'Good Design Award' for his Spiry light collection. His pieces with deMajo are ideal for bringing immediate artistic impact to any space.

The Gemma S1 Suspension Lamp has an eye-catching design that features a chic conical glass lampshade which gracefully widens at the base. The lampshade is mouth-blown for a finish that's unique to the individual piece, and it's transparent at the top and available in a number of colour varieties for all types of décor. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice a glass ball at the top of the lampshade, which comprises the light bulb socket. The lamp is made of crystal glass and metal and measures 18cm in diameter with a 220cm hanging cable.
