The CH22 Armchair was designed by Hans J. Wegner for the manufacturer Carl Hansen.
Hans Wegener was an outstanding Danish designer. He is honoured in retrospect and takes credit for his incredible furniture designs that presented a blend of timelessness and elegance. His legacy of home and office designs lives on. Carl Hansen is the hub of stylish furniture with a consistently unbeatable track record developed since the 1940s.
The CH22 Armchair was created in 1950 as one of the first ever chairs in Hans J. Wegner's debut collection. It is made with solid oak and veneer, with an envelope-woven paper cord seat. The chair is 72.6cm in height, 69.5cm in width, and 61.5cm in depth, while the armrest height is 62cm and the seat is 36.8cm in height. The seat frame of the CH22 Armchair's features finger-jointed corners demonstrating top craftsmanship. The sophisticated arm rests contrast subtly with the modern-looking oval, form-pressed veneer back rest. This chair would make a nice addition to contemporary lounges or conservatries.
