This sleek Diogenes Floor Lamp was designed by King Miranda for the Swiss lighting label Belux.
Belux was established by Thomas Egloff in 1970 with the goal of creating lighting solutions that were design objects in their own right. He succeeded resoundingly with help from famed designers such as Michele de Lucchi, Matteo Thun and Ron Arad, whose opus garnered prestigious prizes including the Red Dot Design Award for the One by One series designed by Steve Lechot. Other notable products include the Up Down Collection, the Twilight Floor Lamp and the Cloud Collection which features a set of hanging lights of various sizes.
The Diogenes Floor Lamp offers both task light for reading and ambient light for overall illumination in one stylish and versatile unit. It achieves this by containing two lamps: a dimmable 300 watt halogen lamp for general lighting and a low-voltage 50 watt lamp for reading. Crafted from lightweight aluminium with a matte finish, the lamp measures 176.6cm in height, 25.8cm in width and 16.8cm in depth. With its rich functionality and slender silhouette, the Diogenes Floor Lamp makes for a fine task/ambient lighting solution for any kind of space.
