Original 1227 Giant Outdoor Wall Light

The classic Original 1227 Giant Outdoor Wall Light was created by George Carwardine for design company Anglepoise.

Anglepoise is one of the most famous brands in British design history. Founder and designer Carwardine was originally working on vehicle suspension design when he realised the same technology could be applied to a lamp. He submitted the patent for the first desk-sized version of the lamp in 1932, and the lamp grew in popularity throughout the Second World War.

Today, the design of this classic lamp is still virtually unchanged, as can be seen in the Original 1227 Giant Wall Light Outdoor. This large outdoor version is made from metal with a glossy finish and attaches securely to exterior walls. It uses Carwardine's legendary spring system for extra flexibility, as the arm of the lamp can be moved around freely. It truly is a piece of great design history.
