The classic Tonale Set Glass was created by David Chipperfield for leading design company Alessi.
Alessi has been in operation since 1921, when it was founded in the Italian Alps, creating and selling from a small workshop. Their kitchen utensils and homewear products are made from a variety of traditional and modern materials, and they are on show at museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The Tonale Set Glass is the brainchild of David Chipperfield, one of Britain's most celebrated architects. In 2010 he received a knighthood for services to architecture in the UK and Germany and he won the Compassod'Oro in 2011 for the Tolane range.
The Tonale Set Glass is a beautiful set of 4 glasses that creates an elegant dining experience. They are simple and pleasing to the eye, with a fuss-free minimal design and a tactile feel. They work well when paired with other items from the Tolane range to create a cohesive scheme. The cups have a diameter of 8cm, a capacity of 0.2l and are ideal for holding water, juice and other cold beverages.
