Original 1227 Maxi Suspension Lamp

The Original 1227 Maxi Suspension Lamp was designed by George Carwardine for the brand Anglepoise .

The British company Anglepoise began producing task lamps in the 1930s using engineer George Carwardine's ingenious constant tension spring mechanism. Carwardine's invention allowed the lamp's light direction to be adjusted easily and stay in position. Fast forward to the present day and we find the company producing an array of desk, floor, wall and pendant lamps while staying true to the unique character of the original designs.

Based on an iconic piece of lighting design, the Original 1227 Maxi Suspension Lamp repurposes the shade of the Original 1227 desk lamp. Twice the size of the standard pendant in this collection, the steel shade is finished with gloss paint and the fittings and ceiling rose are chrome plated. Hung on its own or in a series, it makes a striking statement over kitchen islands and dining tables. The Original 1227 Maxi Suspension Lamp has a suspension height of 120cm and requires an E27 LED bulb which is not included.
