The French designer Pascal Mourgue was born in Neuilly, in 1943. He graduated from "Ecole Boulle" (sculpture) and "Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs" (ENSAD).

Morgue began designing furniture in 1962, whilst continuing to be a productive artist. Never openly seeking publicity, he has always prized artistic integrity above commercial achievement. He worked in fields as diverse as designing sailing boats for Cartier, cristal objects for Baccarat, architecture, painting and sculpting. It was not until the 1980s that he focused on furniture for the home.

In 1994 a long standing and very fruitful collaboration was born between Pascal Mourgue and ligne roset. Mourgue created "Calin" and "Smala" for lignet roset.
His creations have achieved numerous prizes. The "Lover" and the multi-functional upholstered furniture "Downtown" won the Red Dot "best of the best" awards for ligne roset.

In 1996 Mourgue received the Grand Prix National de la Création Industrielle from the French ministry for culture.
