GENEVA
The company Geneva is a young business with their HQ in Switzerland and was founded by Jan Erik Ludberg. Originally Jan Erik Lundberg meant to buy the entertainment electronics company Grundig. But he decided against the acquisition of Grundig, because the firm's structure seemed too complex and too complicated. Instead, he created an entirely new company for the market: Geneva was born.
Geneva was supposed to be structured differently than Grundig. With a slim and easy understandable structure and a quick decision-making process this goal was easy to reach. Lundberg was also very demanding when it came to Geneva's products: The Geneva sound systems were supposed to be clear and reduced to their essential functions, straightforward and with intuitive handling, with elegant design and the highest quality possible. And this is exaclty what the high-end designer sound systems by Geneva are like today.
The first Geneva products were named M, L, and XL. Today Geneva offers several other sizes, like XS, S, and XXL. The Geneva audio systems only have one shell, yet still have all the important components of a conventional hi-fi system. Especially notable is the customer-friendly handling of each Geneva designer product. Despite the extensive functions all Geneva devices are extremely easy to handle.
From the outside the Geneva music systems seem rather simple. But they hide high-end technology in their inner. Swiss engineers are only using the best amplifiers, speakers, tuners, and components for the Geneva audio systems. The technology of acoustics is even patented for these vibration-resistant Geneva sound systems.
The real wooden shells of the Geneva designer audio systems are all handmade. This means, it takes over one week until one shell is lacquered and polished entirely by hand. Geneva's painters and carpenters work with the greatest care on every little detail of each model. The lacquer is applied seven times to make colours like black, red, or white shine brightly.
For the Geneva L Sound System Walnut the American walnut veneer is smoothed down by hand and the lacquer is applied by hand. For the glossy surface of the Geneva L Sound System in walnut up to eight layers of piano lacquer are applied. The magazine “WIRED” called this model the “Steinway”, because the sound quality of the Geneva L Sound System equals that of a concert grand piano.
