The Egg Chair Lounge Chair was designed as early as 1958 for the Danish design furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen.
Originally, this timeless lounge chair was meant for the lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for Arne Jacobsen himself designed not only the building itself, but every little detail: from fabrics over cutlery sets all the way to furniture. In exactly that hotel lobby the Egg Chair experienced its break-through when the hotel was opened in 1960.
