The Agave lamp is the fruit of extensive research and apart from being a lighting device, it is also a decorative element in itself with its own identity and distinctive hall-mark produced by its light. Materials, light and colour meet to produce a new concept in lighting, providing an attractive play on transparencies, reflections, refractions and diffusion. This industrial product in transparent methacrylate, produces unique and original effects and reappraises – from a domestic energy saving point of view – the use of compact fluorescent light sources. The lamp’s visual effect is maximised by a particular radial structure formed by ribs that are arc shaped segments, which diffuse the light, instead of dispersing it. The thickness of the ribs also enables them to become light ‘conductors’. It is a “bud”, emitting rays of light from its source that are dispersed into the environment in an attractive and dynamic fashion. The light comes in three versions: wall-mounted, suspended and as a floor-lamp. In the wall mounted version Agave’s luminous body can face upwards or downwards. |
