Antonia Astori
Antonia Astori was born in Melzo near Milan in 1940.
1966 she graduated in Industrial and Visual Design at the Athenaeum of Lausanne.
In 1968 Antonia Astori founded together with Enrico and Adelaide Astori the company "Driade", which is developping, projecting and producing "Systems for furniture".
Astori creates important furniture system projects and furnishing items, which are intended as "room architecture", and she contributes to the definition of the corporate image through instalments and exhibitions.
Since 1984 Astori collaborates with the french couturier Marithé and François Girbaud and started furnishing her shops in Paris, Brussels, Montreal, San Fransisco and Milan.
In 1987 she renovated and expanded the office accommodation and exhibition spaces of the Driade manufactory in Fossadello di Caorso.
Today Antonia Astori designs especially stands of Driade, Aleph and Follies at the furniture exhibitions in Milan, Cologne and Frankfurt.
